Heaven Terrero

Hello, my name is Heaven Terrero. For the last 10 years, I have had the pleasure to work with the youth of the bronx and to help them gain experiences and life skills through the different programs I’ve been apart. Being apart of day camps as a teen, sleep away camps as a young adult, and working in charter schools such as dream, I am diverse in the different types of programs we can provide for youth. Being born and raised in the Bronx we are labeled as tough around the edges and a hard nut to crack. Fortunately, with my bubbly personality and my laugh you can hear from across the room, we are definitely more than that. With having the opportunity to attend camp as a child, I saw and felt the impact different youth developers had on me and I wanted to give the same experiences for the next generation. At camp, I able to share my interest such as musical theater, different music genres such as K-pop, my love for DIY/ arts & crafts. I am also able to show the challenges I face at camp to help my campers such as hiking, and activity I know love to do. I currently work as the leadership program coordinator for the Fresh Air Fund and it has been an amazing journey from teaching the kids archery to know running the CIT program at Camp Junior. I’m looking forward to be able to meet and connect with the different camps that will be there and to take the knowledge that I learn into our programming back at camp.
