Membership & Accreditation

Our association hosts various professional development opportunities throughout the year including the Tri-State CAMP Conference, the largest camp conference in the world. As a member, you receive a discount for all of our events.

Accreditation is a cornerstone of the American Camp Association’s efforts to enhance the summer camp experience and is the best evidence parents have of a camps commitment to a safe and nurturing environment for their children. ACA, NY & NJ supports hundreds of camps that have gone through this process.

We have a dedicated camper placement specialist working year-round to recommend your camp to prospective camp families. As an Accredited camp of ACA, NY and NJ, your camp is also included in our comprehensive Find-A-Camp tool for families to do their own camp research.

We support your camps legislatively, at both the local and state levels, from Maine to Pennsylvania. We help advocate for the issues that matter most to your camps. We work tirelessly to ensure the best interests of our members are being represented.

Our team of experienced facilitators are available to provide training for your camp staff all year round. Our training programs are customized for your needs and can work for all youth-serving organizations including summer camp, after-school, parks and recreation, community centers, or anything in between.

One of the best ways to grow as a camp professional is to network with others in the industry. We provide numerous opportunities throughout the year to get together to share ideas and collaborate. From affinity groups to round table discussions, there is something offered for everyone.

ACA, NY & NJ has a full-time Communications Director who promotes the positive value of camp to the media.

Our association works on research relevant to our members and the changing trends in the camping community.

We partner with organizations to run camp fairs throughout the New York and New Jersey area, connecting camp families with day and overnight camps, to help families find the best camp for their family.

The backbone of every camp is its strong staff. We offer resources for hiring and retaining the best staff for your program.
