Five Reasons to Attend the Ben Appelbaum Day Camp Conference

The ACA, NY & NJ Ben Appelbaum Day Camp Conference will take place on Wednesday, October 4th where we will tour Camp Playland in New Caanan, CT and Breezemont Day Camp in Armonk, NY.  It’s a wonderful way for both day and overnight camp directors to see other camps. Not sure if you are going to attend?  Check out these five reasons you won’t want to miss it!

1.       Amazing facilities – Looking to improve your camp’s facilities? The Day Camp Conference allows camp professionals to check out other camp’s facilities and bring back ideas to your own camp. From a ninja warrior course to an aerial playground to a zip line over the lake, you won’t want to miss touring these two day camps!

2.       New ideas – Besides checking out top-rate facilities, you are guaranteed to pick up something new from touring other camps.  Whether it’s learning about how another camp does camper drop-off to how they organize their arts & crafts area, there are so many new ideas that come out of seeing how other camps run their programs.

3.       Networking – Whether you are looking for a new camp job or hoping to bounce an idea off of other camp professionals, the networking opportunities that happen over lunch and while touring camps are invaluable!

4.       Connect with old friends – Now that camp is over and early bird registrations are under way, it’s nice to step away from the office and connect with your fellow camp professionals for a post-season catch up!

5.       Get involved – The ACA, NY and NJ staff will all be at the conference and would love to discuss ways you can get involved with the organization.  From learning more about becoming an Accreditation visitor to inquiring about volunteering at the Tri-State CAMP Conference, there are multiple ways to get involved with ACA, NY & NJ.

You can view the agenda for the day here and register here.  If you have any questions, please reach out to our Events Associate Brett Melito. We hope to see you there!
