Camp Keeps Kids Moving All Summer

One of the many benefits of camp is how children stay active all summer long through various land sports, swimming and just walking around camp. Camp keeps children moving and learning healthy lifestyle habits that last throughout their lives.

Camp Scatico shared some cool stats from one of their camp families. Pavel & Maggie’s two children each attended Camp Scatico for seven weeks, tracking steps on their Fitbits every day. By the end of the summer at camp, their daughter Natalie tracked 868,337 steps (372.55 miles) with an average of 7.60 miles a day while Nick tracked 1,324,557 steps (523.17 miles), with an average of 10.68 miles a day.

These stats demonstrate what camp people already know—camp promotes healthy & active habits for children in a fun environment.  It also shows that sometimes campers need more than one pair of sneakers each summer!
